About Preferences in Mail Center
The Preferences Setting in Lasso’s Mail Center allows you to manage the following:
- User Interface - Language, time zone, time format, date format, refresh frequency
- Mailbox View - Preview pane, previewed messages, return receipt, message threads, rows per page, new messages
- Displaying Messages - Positioning, HTML display, default character set, image display
- Composing Messages - Positioning, draft save frequency, return receipt request, delivery status notification, font, spellcheck, signature options
- Address Book - Name display, sort order, rows per page
To access Preferences:
1 – In the Mail Center, click Settings.
2 – Click Preferences.
Manage Address Book Settings
1 – In the Mail Center, click Settings.
2 – Click on Preferences.
3 – Click on Address Book.
4 – Select from the options to List contacts as first name or last name first.
5 – Select from the options for Sorting columns by first name or last name.
6 – Select the number of Rows per page.
7 – Check the box beside Skip alternative email addresses in autocompletion if you do not want alternative email addresses to appear when you are typing an address in the To bar.
8 – When you have made your selections, click Save.
Manage Email Message Composition Settings
1 – In the Mail Center, click Settings.
2 – Click on Preferences.
3 – Click on Composing Messages.
4 – Check the box beside Compose in a new window if you want a new window to open for composing a new message.
5 – Select the frequency with which you want to Automatically save drafts.
6 – Select from the options for Attachment names.
7 – Check the box beside Use MIME encoding for 8-bit characters if you want your email format to support octets outside of the 7-bit ASCII character set.
8 – Check the box beside Always request a return receipt if you want to send your intended email recipient a request to notify you that the message was received.
9 – Check the box beside Always request a delivery status notification if you want to be notified that your message has been delivered.
10 – Check the box beside Place replies in the folder of the message being replied to if you want your replies to automatically be filed in the appropriate folder.
11 – Select from the options for When replying to a message.
12 – Select from the options for Messages forwarding.
13 – Select from the options for Default font of HTML message.
14 – To activate Spellcheck, check the box beside Check spelling before sending a message.
15 – Check the box beside Ignore words with symbols if you want Spellcheck to ignore these.
16 – Check the box beside Ignore words with numbers if you want Spellcheck to ignore these.
17 – Check the box beside Ignore words with all letters capitalized if you want Spellcheck to ignore these.
18 – Select from the options for Automatically add a signature.
19 – Check the box beside When replying remove original signature from message if you want the signature to be removed from your reply.
20 – When you have made your selections, click Save.
Manage Email Message Display Settings
1 – In the Mail Center, click Settings.
2 – Click on Preferences.
3 – Click on Displaying Messages.
4 – Check the box beside Open message in a new window if you want messages to open in a new window rather than in the same screen.
5 – Check the box beside Display HTML if you want messages to show graphics, colors, etc. as the sender intended as opposed to plain text.
6 – Beside Default Character Set, select from the dropdown.
7 – Beside Display remote inline images, select from the dropdown.
8 – Check the box beside Display attached images below the message if you want images to show in your messages.
9 – Check the box beside After message delete/move display the next message if you want the next new message to be displayed once you have deleted or moved a read message.
10 – When you have made your selections, click Save.
Manage Mailbox View Settings
1 – In the Mail Center, click Settings.
2 – Click on Preferences.
3 – Click on Mailbox View.
4 – Check the box beside Show preview pane if you want the selected message to show in a preview panel.
5 – Beside On request for return receipt, select from the dropdown.
6 – Beside Expand message threads, select from the dropdown.
7 – Select the number of Rows per page (maximum is 200).
8 – Check the box beside Check all folders for new messages if you want to be notified of new messages in folders other than just the Inbox.
9 – When you have made your selections, click Save.
Manage User Interface Settings in Mail Center
1 – In the Mail Center, click Settings.
2 – Click on Preferences.
3 – Click on User Interface.
4 – Select your preferred Language, Time zone, Time format, and Date format from the dropdowns.
5 – Beside Refresh, select the frequency with which you would like the system to check for new messages, etc.
6 – If you want the Lasso email client to open automatically every time you click on a mailto link, click on Register protocol handler for mailto: links to set as default.
7 – When you have made your selections, click Save.
