About Website Tracking and Analytics

The Website Analytics menu item under Project Setup in the Project Admin Center allows a Project Administrator to generate tracking code that can be added to landing pages to see which sites prospects are coming from and to monitor registrant website activity. Website tracking functionality includes:

  • Project Website Tracking - When Lasso’s tracking code is added to the pages of a project website, Lasso will track the visits to each page.
  • Notification of repeat visitors to your project website - Receive alerts when a registrant is visiting the project website.
  • Website Analytics Charts:
    • Top Pages shows the three pages that were clicked on the most
    • Weekly Traffic provides a look at the number of visits, return visits, and registrations in a given week
    • Top Referrers displays the sites that visitors have come from most often

Setting up website tracking

To activate website tracking, the domain must first be added in the Project Admin Center. Adding the domain generates tracking code containing a Lasso Analytics ID. This code is then copied to each page that you want to track. Once tracking is set up, when someone registers online, a GUID is generated, allowing the registrant's website activity on the specified landing page to be tracked in Lasso. GUID stands for globally unique identifier and is a randomly generated reference number that identifies a particular computer and browser.

Tracking existing registrant website activity

If you already have registrants in your project database prior to adding the Lasso tracking code to your domain(s) and you want to track website activity for these existing registrants, you need to send a mass mail that contains a hyperlink which, when clicked by the email recipient, will track their website activity in their Lasso profile.

Excluding specific IP addresses

You have the option to exclude specific IP addresses, e.g. your presentation center IP address, so that the data will not appear in website analytics traffic reporting or registrant profiles. For example, if someone within the organization clicks on the project website, it would skew the traffic report as this isn’t actually registrant traffic.

Note: If you are developing an iPad/Kiosk form, do not implement Lasso Website Analytics on the form as each submission following the first on a single iPad/Kiosk would be included in the reporting as a revisit.

About Website Analytics Reports

The Website Analytics Reports are accessed in the Sales Center, and include data on individual registrant website activity as well as general website activity.

Registrant Website Analytics displays:

  • Registrant Name
  • Number of Website Visits

  • Number of Average Views Per Visit
  • Number of Unique Views
  • Registrant Rating
  • Assigned Sales Rep

 Website Analytics report provides:

  • Page Views - Displays the Page URLs and Page Titles that were clicked on along with the number of times that each page was viewed. Clicking on the URL will take you to the page. This report can be filtered by date, personalized, printed, and/or exported to a CSV file.
  • Traffic - Shows the visit dates as well as the number of New Visitors, Return Visitors, Total Page Views, Average Page Views, and Registrations. Clicking on the Registrations column will give you the name of the Registrants. This report can be filtered by date, personalized, printed, and/or exported to a CSV file.
  • Referrers - Shows you the sites that visitors have come from, including Referrer Name, Referrer Type, and number of Visitors and Registrations along with their Conversion Rate. This report can be filtered by date, personalized, printed, and/or exported to a CSV file.
  • Keywords - Displays the words that were typed in the search engine and the number of times each was entered. This report can be filtered by date, personalized, printed, and/or exported to a CSV file.

Note: The Keywords Report will indicate blanks or N/A in the following circumstances:

    • Blank (shown as a dash on the report) indicates a direct entry to the site
    • N/A indicates that the site was accessed from a signed-in Google account, e.g. Gmail

To view the Website Analytics Reports, click Reports in the Sales Center, and select Registrant Website Analytics to see specific registrant website activity or Website Analytics for general website activity.
