About Relationship Types

Relationship Types are used to link registrants together. For example, a husband and wife can have individual registrant profiles but be linked as spouses.

Lasso provides a list of default Relationship Types and their associated Reverse Relationships Types in the Client Admin Center. Administrators have the ability to add custom Relationship Types if needed.  Relationship Types are accessible on all projects and users will select from the list when assigning a relationship between registrants.

The default Relationship Types and their associated Reverse Relationship Types in Lasso are as follows:

  • Associate>Associate
  • Child>Parent
  • Client>Realtor
  • Co-Buyer>Co-Buyer
  • Co-Worker>Co-Worker
  • Family>Family
  • Friend>Friend
  • Parent>Child
  • Partner>Partner
  • Realtor>Client
  • Sibling>Sibling
  • Spouse>Spouse

If there are specific Relationship Types that you do not want sales reps to be able to select, the Relationship Types can be hidden from the list by disabling them in the Client Admin Center. The disabled Relationship Types will no longer be visible to sales reps when adding relationships between registrants but will be visible when generating custom lists.

To manage Relationship Types:

1 - In the Client Admin Center, click Settings and select Registrant.
Registrant Settings

2 - Click on the Relationship Types tab.

4 - A new line will appear. Enter the Relationship Type in the space provided and then double-click in the same line under Reverse and enter the Reverse Relationship.

You can enter your Relationship Types in two ways:

  • Click on Add Relationship Type multiple times to add as many fields as you need and then go back and enter your Relationship Types and Reverse Relationships in the spaces provided; or
Click on Add Relationship Type, enter your Relationship Type and Reverse Relationship in the spaces provided, and then click on Add Relationship Type again and repeat the process as many times as needed.

Note: For many Relationship Types, you will need to create two entries in order to be able to select a Relationship Type and its Reverse when assigning relationships to registrants.
For example, if you are assigning a Child-Parent Relationship, you need to be able to select Child for one Registrant and Parent for the other Registrant. In this case, two Relationship Types would need to be created - one Type as Child with the Reverse as Parent and the other Type as Parent with the Reverse as Child.
