Import Inventory

Import Inventory

The Lasso Inventory Import is a feature that allows you to import Inventory into your project database using a single import template. Details such as Initial Price, Square Footage, Plan Type, Number of Bedrooms, and Property and Utility Taxes related to each unit can be imported for multiple units at one time.

Please note if you have inventory that is already in the contract process and you require details such as contract dates and price revisions to be imported into your project database, this data cannot be accommodated in the standard inventory import template. It must be done via custom import through Lasso support staff. Please contact your Client Services Director if you require such an import.

To Download the Inventory Import Template:

1 – Click into the Inventory Center inventoryadminicon.
2 – If applicable, click on the Component tab you want to access.
3 – With your mouse, hover over Inventory and click on Inventory Import.

4 – Click on Template Builder.

5 – A list of fields will be displayed. Click on the box to the right of Select All or go through the list checking the columns you will need in your template.

6 - Click on Download Template once you’ve made your selections.

7 – This will load the template to an Excel CSV (Comma Separated Value) file. Open it and save it to your computer, keeping the CSV format. You will see all the fields you selected as column headings in Row 1.

Note: If you wish, you can remove columns you don’t need but do not edit any of the column headings as the system will not be able to read them if changed.

8 – Beginning in Row 2, copy or enter your data into the appropriate cells for each record. If data is not entered into a cell in the file, the field in Lasso will remain blank.

Note: The columns entitled Unique ID, Inventory, and Initial Price are required fields and must be completed. If there is no data in these fields for any of the records, when the file is loaded, the data for that row will not load into the project database. Unique ID is a unit-specific identifier such as strata lot number while Inventory is the unit number that is most recognizable to sales reps and purchasers.

7 – When the import is complete, you will receive an email notification in your Lasso Inbox. An attachment will be included with the email if there were errors with any of the units in the file. If errors exist, open the error file, complete the fixes as indicated, and import the units that did not get imported initially.
