About Importing Inventory

The Lasso Inventory Import is a feature that allows you to import inventory into your project database using an import template. Details such as Initial Price, Square Footage, Plan Type, Number of Bedrooms, and Property and Utility Taxes related to each unit can be imported for multiple units at one time.

Please note if you have inventory that is already in the contract process and you require details such as purchaser names, contract dates, price revisions, etc. to be imported into your project database, the import must be done by the Lasso Support Team. Please contact your Client Director if you would like contract details imported.

Download Template

1 – In the Inventory Center, click on the appropriate Component tab, if applicable. You won't see Component tabs if there is only one.

2 – Hover over Inventory and select Inventory Import.

3 – Click on Template Builder.

4 – A list of fields will be displayed. Click on the box to the right of Select All or go through the list checking the columns you will need in your template.

5 – Click on Download Template once you’ve made your selections.

6 – This will load the template to an Excel CSV (Comma Separated Value) file. Open it and save it to your computer, keeping the CSV format. You will see all the fields you selected as column headings in Row 1.

Note: If you wish, you can remove columns you don’t need but do not edit any of the column headings as the system will not be able to read them if changed.

7 – Beginning in Row 2, copy or enter your data into the appropriate cells for each record. If data is not entered into a cell in the file, the field in Lasso will remain blank.

Note: The columns entitled Unique ID, Inventory, and Initial Price are required fields and must be completed. If there is no data in these fields for any of the records, when the file is loaded, the data for that row will not load into the project database. Unique ID can be used for strata lot number or a number related to accounting while Inventory is generally used for the suite or house number. However, the same number can be used for both Unique ID and Inventory.

  • The import is in progress and you will receive an email notification in your Lasso Inbox when it’s complete;

OR

  • You have errors in your file and you will need to fix them in the template and re-import.

6 – When the import is complete, you will receive an email notification in your Lasso Inbox. An attachment will be included with the email if there were errors with any of the units in the file. If errors exist, open the error file, complete the fixes as indicated, and import the units that did not get imported initially.
