The Co-Buyer feature on the registrant profile in the Sales Center allows you to quickly and easily link registrants who are purchasing a home together. Simply click the add co-buyer button on a registrant profile to either add a new registrant as a co-buyer (if the co-buyer has not yet been added to the project database) or search for and select the co-buyer (if they are an existing registrant). This action will automatically link the registrants with a Co-Buyer Relationship. Multiple purchasers can be added and linked as co-buyers from one registrant profile.
Click add co-buyer and then select + new registrant or + search registrant.
The co-buyer is added and displayed on each registrant profile in the co-buyers section.
A relationship is created between co-buyers and is displayed in the Relationship section of each registrant profile.
1 – When adding a new registrant as co-buyer, does any information get copied from the primary buyer registrant profile to the co-buyer registrant profile?
Yes. When adding a co-buyer via the new registrant button, the following information is copied from the primary buyer registrant profile to the co-buyer registrant profile:
- Registration Date
- Assigned Sales Rep(s)
Note: When adding an existing registrant as co-buyer, all information on the existing registrant’s profile remains the same, with the addition of the co-buyer relationship.
2 – When adding a new registrant as co-buyer, do they count as new traffic?
No, new registrants added via the new registrant button will not be counted as new traffic. The Exclude From Traffic button will automatically be checked in the co-buyer’s registrant profile. This does not apply when adding an existing registrant as co-buyer.
3 – If there are sales processes in place in Lasso, does adding a new registrant as co-buyer generate sales activities for the new registrant?
No. If there are sales processes in place, no sales activities are generated for the new registrant.
4 – Does adding a new registrant as co-buyer generate history for the new registrant?
No. No history is generated for the new registrant.
5 – When adding purchase details via Actions>Purchaser on the registrant profile, do the contract details have to be added individually in each co-buyer registrant profile?
No, as long as the co-buyers are already linked by a Co-Buyer Relationship, purchase details added via Actions>Purchaser will be automatically added to each co-buyer registrant profile. Co-buyers will be displayed in the Purchasers / Co-Buyers section of the Assign Inventory & Purchasers page upon opening.
6 – Can more than one co-buyer be added to a registrant profile?
Yes. As many co-buyers as needed can be added to a registrant profile. Each co-buyer registrant profile will be linked via the Co-Buyer Relationship and will list all co-buyers in the co-buyer section.
7 – If a co-buyer is removed from a registrant profile, does that action remove the co-buyer from the project database (i.e. delete them as a registrant)?
No. Removing a co-buyer from a registrant profile deletes the Co-Buyer Relationship between the registrants but the co-buyer remains in the database as a registrant. The Audits section of the registrant profile will indicate that the relationship has been deleted.
1 – In the registrant profile, click add co-buyer.
2 – Select + new registrant if the co-buyer has not yet been added to the project database or + search registrant if the co-buyer already exists in the project database.
a) If you selected + new registrant, the Add Co-Buyer Registrant page will come up. Enter the details and click Create-Co-Buyer Registrant.
A new registrant profile will be created for the co-buyer. The following details will be copied from the primary buyer registrant profile to the co-buyer registrant profile:
- Registration Date
- Assigned Sales Rep(s)
As well, the Exclude From Traffic button will be checked. This means the co-buyer will not be counted as new traffic.
b) If you selected + search registrant, start to type the first few letters of the co-buyer’s name, select from the list that comes up, and then click Create Relationship.
The co-buyer will be added to the primary buyer’s registrant profile with a Co-Buyer Relationship.
3 – Add as many co-buyers as needed.
Each co-buyer you add will be indicated on each registrant profile under the registrant’s name. Click on the co-buyer’s name to go to their profile.
A Co-Buyer Relationship will be displayed in the Relationship section of each registrant profile. Click on the co-buyer’s name to go their profile.
Note: If you are tracking the purchase details of a sale via the Purchaser feature located on the Actions menu of the registrant profile, ensure that all co-buyers are added prior to adding the details of the purchased inventory. The inventory will automatically be added to all co-buyer registrant profiles as long as they are already linked with a Co-Buyer Relationship.
1 – If you haven’t done so already, in one of the registrant profiles, click add co-buyer and add all co-buyers as needed.
2 – Click Actions and select Purchaser.
3 – Note that all registrants with an existing Co-Buyer Relationship will be listed in the Purchasers / Co-Buyers section of the Assign Inventory & Purchasers page. Complete the information as needed and Save.
The inventory will be listed in the Inventory section of each co-buyer’s registrant profile.
A registrant list of co-buyers can be pulled on the Custom Lists page of the Sales Center.
1 – In the Sales Center, click on the + button in the Custom Lists (Dynamic Lists) section.
2 – On the Custom Lists page, scroll down to the Relationships section, select Co-Buyer, and click Go.
This will generate a list of all registrants with a Co-Buyer Relationship.
In the registrant profile, click show co-buyers to expand the co-buyer section and hide co-buyers to collapse it.
Note: Removing a co-buyer from a registrant profile does not delete the registrant from the project database. It only deletes the Co-Buyer Relationship.
1 – In the registrant profile, click show co-buyer(s) if the co-buyer section is not already displayed.
2 – Click the garbage can button beside the co-buyer that you want to remove.
This will remove the co-buyer from the registrant profile and will delete the Co-Buyer Relationship between the registrants. It will not delete the co-buyer’s registrant profile from the project database.
Note: You will have a few seconds to undo the action of removing the co-buyer. The Undo window will appear in the top right of the page when you click the garbage can button. In the Undo window:
- To undo the action, click Undo
- To close the window, click X.
- Do nothing and the window will disappear after a few seconds.
